The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54-years-old TAMMY JEAN GARCEAU (pictured) after she allowed three innocent dogs to die in a car and then dumped their bodies.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by Voice For Us, on the afternoon of Saturday, August 12, 2023, GARGEAU called the sheriff’s office to report that the three dogs she was watching for a friend, had been stolen from her car at her home on 9090 Bracelet Drive in Lake Worth.
As part of the investigation, detectives contacted GARCEAU’s neighbors to obtain surveillance video. It turned out that one of the neighbors had seen the three dogs on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 8, 2023, inside GARCEAU’s car and said that they “were in the vehicle for an extended period of time.” The neighbor went on to say that at some point that afternoon he saw GARCEAU “come outside, remove the dogs from the vehicle and attempt to cool them down with water from the hose.” The neighbor recorded this act and the video was collected by the sheriff's office as evidence.
As stated in the affidavit, that Tuesday, the outside temperature was approximately 92 degrees!
“Therefore, regardless of the vehicle air conditioning being on, and 3 dogs sharing a small space, the internal vehicle temperature was most likely higher,” rightfully pointed out a deputy in the arrest affidavit.
When GARCEAU was questioned, she said she did not want to bring the dogs inside her home and she intentionally left them inside the car.
GARCEAU was placed under arrest and then deputies asked her where the deceased furbabies were. GARCEAU said she could show them the locations and first directed deputies to a wooded area at Lantana Rd and 95th Ave S. There, she pointed at some bushes where a deputy found a brown/black dog.
GARCEAU then directed deputies to a canal just south of 6075 S State Rd 7 where she advised she had dumped the other two dogs. According to the arrest affidavit, the deputy “could see a spot along the waterline where the dog was, however, it is likely that an alligator ate them.”
GARCEAU was charged with three counts of unlawful abandonment/confinement of animal, three counts of cruelty to animal, and three counts of unlawful disposal of dead animal.
Arrest records show GARCEAU was booked in the Palm Beach County Jail and released the following day after posting a $9,000 bond.
According to court records, GARCEAU is expected back in court on September 11, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.
CBS12 identified the three Voiceless Victims as Ace, Sky, and Stella according to a Facebook post whose link was not posted.
