The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-years-old MARQUAVIOUS DEUNTA MONTGOMERY and SANAE TOSHIAH RELEFORD (both pictured) for animal cruelty.
The arrest is the result of an attempted traffic stop. A deputy tried to stop a Honda Accord on Glendale Avenue in Macon with a headlight out. MONTGOMERY, who was driving the car, first slowed down, then jumped out of the vehicle, and ran away.
The sheriff’s office said MONTGOMERY was wanted on warrants in Statesboro, Bulloch County and Warner Robins, Houston and Peach counties.
The deputy followed MONTGOMERY to a nearby trailer where he and RELEFORD were found with two malnourished dogs. The deputy reported that the Voiceless Victims were shut in separate rooms, did not have any food or water, and there was a large amount of old feces and urine spread across the floor.
RELEFORD was placed under arrest on two counts of animal cruelty.
MONTOGOMERY was also arrested and charged with two counts of animal cruelty and in addition he was charged with a headlight violation, traffic violations, expired registration, driving with a suspended or revoked license, as well as willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.
