The Tampa Police Department arrested 43-year-old JASON CHRISTOPHER LARSON (pictured).

On the early evening of March 23, 2025, officers responded to the 700 block of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a report of a fire in the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing a male, later identified as LARSON, starting the fire in the parking lot.

Officers found a dead dog after putting out the flames. LARSON fled the area before police arrived.

Approximately half an hour later, Tampa Police responded to a call reporting a single car traffic crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Upon arrival, officers found an empty car and LARSON standing on a ledge along the causeway making statements that he had killed a dog.

Police said that after more than two hours, LARSON was taken into protective custody and transported to Orient Road Jail on animal cruelty charges.

Police tell me the dog was a Pug but no additional details were released and the investigation remains active.

I took the liberty of naming the Voiceless Victim Honey for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

48-year-old TIMOTHY D. BROWN aka TIMMIE BROWN (pictured), is accused of a crime involving the death of an innocent male Pug puppy named Goji.

On February 26, 2025, the Buffalo City Police Department received a call about a deceased puppy found at a home on Shields Avenue. The caller also shared the home with BROWN.

According to the press release by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, authorities learned that BROWN “intentionally” struck Goji multiple times resulting in his death.

The savage was arrested and charged with one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of harassment in the second degree (violation).

On February 27, 2025, BROWN was arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Carrie Phillips and then released on his own recognizance as the charges are non-qualifying offenses for bail.

A temporary protection order has been issued for the human victim, along with a “no animal” order that prohibits BROWN from “owning” or caring for any animals while the case is ongoing.

BROWN is due back in court on the morning of Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 9:30.

If convicted of the most serious charge, he could face up to ONLY two years in prison and then he will be free to resume his pathetic and useless existence.

Goji, on the other hand, won’t have a second life!

I asked the Erie County District Attorney’s Office how old Goji was and I was told: “We do not have an exact age for the deceased dogapproximately 5 months to 12 months old, which is why we referred to him as a puppy.” To my question regarding the details of the incident, the answer was: “Also, we cannot disclose any details about the cause of death due to the ongoing investigation as a necropsy has not been completed at this time.”

The Erie County District Attorney's Office pointed out that "As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
