The Toledo Police Department arrested 33-year-old MICHELLE ANN ROBERTS (pictured).

Officers responded to a house in the 400 block of 3rd Street in east Toledo from which ROBERTS had been evicted. She left without taking her dogs and when officers arrived at the home, they found two live Pitbulls and a deceased Pitbull puppy in a bedroom upstairs.

Officers found the live Pitbulls in cages with garbage piled on top of them, hiding them from sight. The furvictims had no food or water and it appeared they had been abandoned for several days due to the condition they were in.

Officers reported that the three dogs’ rib bones were visible and it appeared that the puppy had starved to death.

ROBERTS was taken into custody on April 11, 2025, and was charged with one count of cruelty to animals. Online arrest records show she was released from the Lucas County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

I took the liberty of naming the deceased puppy Cloud, for the tribute image. Should his/her given name be made public, I will rectify it accordingly.

The Live Oak Police Department arrested 45-year-old ERIC IVAN ROLDAN (pictured), on March 31, 2025, after he was witnessed mercilessly abusing a defenseless puppy.

Officers responded to the Boys Ranch neighborhood in Live Oak where they found a neighbor who was holding a puppy in her arms.

Officers noticed that the pup, a 10-week-old female weighing about 10lbs, was bleeding from her nose and ears, had swollen eyes, and multiple cuts around her ear. They also noticed a blanket that had blood on it.

Patrol Officer Williams reported: “Once we arrived, we saw the victim standing at the intersection holding a small puppy that was sitting on top of a bloody pillow. I immediately noticed that the dog was bleeding from the ear, both of its eyes were swollen shut and that it was groaning and yelping every time it was moved.”

Officers immediately rushed the furvictim to a local veterinarian where she was examined and vets determined that she had a skull fracture as well as severe head and skull swelling.

The neighbor identified ROLDAN as the individual responsible for abusing the puppy. According to the officers, the neighbor witnessed ROLDAN “wrapping the puppy in a blanket and then simultaneously kicking, stomping, and slamming the puppy against the ground.

After ROLDAN was interviewed, he was placed under arrest and booked into the Suwannee County Jail on felony animal cruelty charges. At the time of writing, records show no bond was set.

The nonprofit Livin’ Like Larry Farm Sanctuary stepped in to care for the furvictim and dubbed her Sweetpea.

The organization has shared updates and pictures of Sweetpea which I have added to the gallery below.

At some point, when Sweetpea’s conditions worsened, she was taken to Oviedo Veterinary Hospital.

In a recent post, Livin’ Like Larry Farm Sanctuary wrote: “Her CT scans reveal severe injuries, including a detached eye, skull fractures, and brain swelling. She remains in a medically induced coma to give her body time to heal. Despite everything, she is stable, breathing on her own, and showing signs of resilience. Her veterinarians believe she has a chance at recovery, but she will need extensive medical care, including future surgeries to repair her skull. She faces a long road ahead, including surgeries and ongoing treatment.”

As you can imagine, Sweetpea’s medical care is going to be very expensive. As stated by Livin’ Like Larry Farm Sanctuary, “Her medical bills are already estimated at $6,400 and climbing”, so if you wish and can afford to donate, please click here. If you cannot donate, please pray for Sweetpea or send her pawsitive thoughts. Thank you!

48-year-old TIMOTHY D. BROWN aka TIMMIE BROWN (pictured), is accused of a crime involving the death of an innocent male Pug puppy named Goji.

On February 26, 2025, the Buffalo City Police Department received a call about a deceased puppy found at a home on Shields Avenue. The caller also shared the home with BROWN.

According to the press release by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, authorities learned that BROWN “intentionally” struck Goji multiple times resulting in his death.

The savage was arrested and charged with one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of harassment in the second degree (violation).

On February 27, 2025, BROWN was arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Carrie Phillips and then released on his own recognizance as the charges are non-qualifying offenses for bail.

A temporary protection order has been issued for the human victim, along with a “no animal” order that prohibits BROWN from “owning” or caring for any animals while the case is ongoing.

BROWN is due back in court on the morning of Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 9:30.

If convicted of the most serious charge, he could face up to ONLY two years in prison and then he will be free to resume his pathetic and useless existence.

Goji, on the other hand, won’t have a second life!

I asked the Erie County District Attorney’s Office how old Goji was and I was told: “We do not have an exact age for the deceased dogapproximately 5 months to 12 months old, which is why we referred to him as a puppy.” To my question regarding the details of the incident, the answer was: “Also, we cannot disclose any details about the cause of death due to the ongoing investigation as a necropsy has not been completed at this time.”

The Erie County District Attorney's Office pointed out that "As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
