The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office announced that 27-years-old ALEXIS L. HAGADORN-GARMLEY (pictured) is facing animal cruelty charges after three dogs were found “in a severe state of malnutrition.”
In a brief media release, Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo explained that it all started with a “dog-at-large” complaint received by the Town of Milton A.C.O. Dave Drozinski on September 26, 2023.
The sheriff's office launched an investigation from which it emerged that HAGADORN-GARMLEY had failed to provide proper sustenance to three dogs over an extended period of time.
According to court documents obtained by Voice For Us, on the morning of Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at a property on Texacana Road in Milton, HAGADORN-GARMLEY
did intentionally, knowingly, and unlawfully fail to provide proper sustenance by depriving necessary food to Ellie, Balou, and Oliver, all Bulldogs.
Documents stated that Ellie, of 2 years of age, was found to be weighing 27 pounds. 3 year old Balou, weighed 23 pounds, and Oliver, 8 years old, was found to be weighing 39 pounds.
All three Voiceless Victims were also dehydrated.
HAGADORN-GARMLEY, of Ballston Spa, was arrested on October 11, 2023, and released on an appearance ticket. Her court date at Milton Town Court was not disclosed.
Ellie, Balou, and Oliver are now in the care of Saratoga County Animal Shelter where they are receiving proper medical attention.
In a statement, Sheriff Zurlo said: “My department takes all complaints involving animals with the utmost sincerity. I am grateful to know that these dogs are now receiving the care they deserve and pray for their complete recovery.”
