On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, the Fort Smith Police Department arrested 21-years-old CIERRA MAYE PULLIAM and 31-years-old DAVID RAY ASBURY (both pictured).
Police said the Department received multiple complaints about the welfare of a dog at the couple’s home on 3925 Jenny Lind Road.
When officers responded to the pair’s residence, they found a dog chained to a fence. The Voiceless Victims was malnourished, had sores on his/her body and had lacerations from being chained up. The chain used to tether the dog had been on the poor soul for about two weeks.
Thankfully, the dog was removed from the property and was taken to be treated.
Police did not disclose additional information about the dog nor his/her status.
Regarding this, I emailed the Department’s PIO and if I get a response, I will rectify the article accordingly.
PULLIAM and ASBURY are each charged with one felony count of aggravated animal cruelty and keeping unvaccinated dogs/animals.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the humane citizens who did the right thing and reported animal cruelty!
