TRAYMON CARR arrested - More than forty severely neglected animals rescued from a Pulaski County home - Many animals were also found dead

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old TRAYMON CARR (pictured).


The night of April 11, 2025, the Cabot-based nonprofit Jak’s Second Chance Rescue Ranch contacted the sheriff’s office and alerted deputies to possible animal abuse at a house in the 4700 block of Rose Lane.


The following morning deputies responded to the location to investigate.

They were greeted by a strong odor of decomposition carried down the driveway to the main road.


On the porch of the house, deputies found a large, decomposed animal whom they believed to be a cat. Through a window, they saw underweight dogs running loose. The dogs had missing fur, injuries, and skin problems. According to deputies, they also saw rats, cockroaches, and other bugs inside and outside the house on trash piles.


Deputies learned that the renter of the house had been hospitalized after suffering a stroke a month prior and put their roommate, CARR, in charge of the animals while they were hospitalized.


More than forty animals were removed from the house, including cats, dogs, two pigs, and one rooster. Sadly, three cats and four dogs were found deceased.

The rescued Voiceless Victims were placed in the care of Jak’s Second Chance Rescue Ranch.

Garland County Humane Society took in four cats and seven dogs.


Deputies tried to track CARR down and he was ultimately taken into custody on April 12, 2025. He was charged with thirty-eight (38) counts of aggravated animal cruelty and three (3) counts of cruelty to animals.

At the time of writing, online records show CARR is being held into the Pulaski County Jail.

MICHELLE ANN ROBERTS arrested for abandoning her dogs in the home she was evicted from

The Toledo Police Department arrested 33-year-old MICHELLE ANN ROBERTS (pictured).


Officers responded to a house in the 400 block of 3rd Street in east Toledo from which ROBERTS had been evicted. She left without taking her dogs and when officers arrived at the home, they found two live Pitbulls and a deceased Pitbull puppy in a bedroom upstairs.


Officers found the live Pitbulls in cages with garbage piled on top of them, hiding them from sight. The furvictims had no food or water and it appeared they had been abandoned for several days due to the condition they were in.


Officers reported that the three dogs’ rib bones were visible and it appeared that the puppy had starved to death.


ROBERTS was taken into custody on April 11, 2025, and was charged with one count of cruelty to animals. Online arrest records show she was released from the Lucas County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

ALEC OMAR ESPERICUETA accused of killing a stray cat by repeatedly slamming him/her to the ground, hitting the head with a rock, and stomping the head with his foot

The Mission Police Department arrested 20-year-old ALEC OMAR ESPERICUETA (pictured).


On the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025, police responded to Tru-Fit Gym on 1718 E. Griffin Parkway after receiving a call from a woman who reported seeing a male torturing an animal in the parking lot.


According to the PC Affidavit, the woman told police that she saw a male holding what she thought was a car mat but, then she realized the male was holding an animal but she could not tell what animal.


The PC Affidavit stated: “The male then began slamming the animal on the ground and then proceeded to hit it with a rock. The male then placed the animal on the edge of the cement curb and began stomping on it.”


The woman told the police the male went inside the gym and that he had a black Toyota Tacoma. Thankfully she was able to provide officers with the license plate number.


The officer who responded to the scene met with the woman who showed him a partial video of the incident. The officer found a deceased gray cat on the east side of the parking lot and then saw the vehicle in question leaving.


After conducting a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, ESPERICUETA was identified as the driver. When he was questioned by the officer about the cat, ESPERICUETA claimed that

he had picked up the feline from his neighborhood with a trap, put the animal on the bed of his truck, and then drove to the gym.


According to the PC Affidavit, ESPERICUETA told the officer that when he arrived at the gym, he noticed that the cat was seizing and foaming at the mouth so he took him/her out of the cage and when he was unable to locate a pulse, he became upset and began slamming the cat on the ground multiple times. The PC Affidavit goes on to state: “Mr. Espericueta then grabbed a rock and smashed the cat in the head with the rock.” He then proceeded to put the cat on the curb and stomped on his/her tiny head and neck, leaving him/her lifeless before going to the gym as if nothing had happened.


The murderer was handcuffed and charged with one count of cruelty to non-livestock animal.

Jail records show he was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on April 10, 2025, and released on the same day after posting a $100,000 bond.
