Last week I emailed Wood County Prosecuting Attorney Pat Lefebure and requested additional information about the Voiceless Victims but I have not heard from her office yet.
Since authorities did not disclose the furbabies’ names, I took the liberty of naming them Beeblossom, Bouquet, Dew, and Sunflower for the tribute image. Should their given names be made public, I will rectify them accordingly.
~ Original story:
Deputies with the Wood County Sheriff's Office responded to Turtle Lane in Davisville where they discovered four deceased dogs inside a trailer.
Deputies made contact with the trailer’s owner, 47-years-old VICKI LEAH PATTERSON (pictured), who told them she did not live inside the mobile home but in a car beside it.
According to WTAP, deputies say “they found large amounts of debris and feces in all parts of the trailer.” They also say all the windows were closed and there was no ventilation.
On the windows, deputies observed what appeared to be claw marks indicating that the dogs may have been trying to get out.
The furbabies were located in different parts of the mobile home.
After talking with a neighbor, deputies learned that the neighbor had seen the dogs in the trailer but they had not heard them barking for two months.
When deputies confronted PATTERSON about the dogs, she said they were in the trailer sleeping.
PATTERSON was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 21, on four Felony counts of animal cruelty. Online records show she is still in the North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility.
